mommas margarita 1

Nothing says summer more to me than sipping a simply made margarita while floating in a lounge chair in the pool. With two ingredients and some ice, you can whip up a pitcher of these tangy concoctions in no time. Momma’s margarita can also be made in a frozen slushy version if you prefer it that way. If you are having a get-together, you can easily triple or even quadruple the recipe. I don’t care for the traditional salt-rimmed glass, but if you do, simply rub a slice of lime around the rim of the glass and then dip the rim in coarse or kosher salt.

Ingredients:

  • 1- 12 ounce can of frozen limeade concentrate
  • 1- 12 ounce can of tequila, light or dark
  • Water
  • Ice

First we start by pouring the frozen limeade concentrate into a pitcher.

Then, using the empty frozen limeade concentrate can for measuring, we fill the can with tequila and pour it into the pitcher with the concentrate. Next, we add one can of cold water and stir. Pour into a glass full of ice, garnish with a slice of lime and sip away. Or, if you prefer the frozen, slushy variety, simply skip the can of cold water and add 2 cans of ice cubes instead. Pour the cubes and drink mix into a blender and blend until slushy. Enjoy!
